Have you had negative experiences with third-party electricity suppliers? Share your story to help us advocate for a more fair and just energy system in MA!

Context: Predatory third-party electricity suppliers are known to target low-to-moderate income communities, communities of color, and communities with lower English-speaking proficiency — like the Fairmount Corridor — with promises of lower energy bills, only to exploit new customer by locking them into contracts and skyrocketing their rates afterwards.

How you can help us fight for protections: We want to hear from residents who have been approached by or who have contracted with these suppliers about your experiences. This will inform our advocacy to stop these companies from preying on residents 

Next steps: FICC will share what we learn & our recommendations with the Department of Public Utilities during an April 16 meeting. CONTEXTO: Los proveedores de electricidad depredadores de terceros son conocidos por dirigirse a comunidades de ingresos bajos a moderados, comunidades de color y comunidades con menor dominio del inglés, como el Corredor Fairmount, con promesas de facturas de energía más bajas, solo para explotar a los nuevos clientes obligándolos a firmar contratos y aumentando drásticamente sus tarifas posteriormente.

AYÚDANOS A LUCHAR POR LA PROTECCIÓN COMPARTIENDO TU HISTORIA: Queremos escuchar a los residentes que han sido contactados o que han contratado a estos proveedores sobre sus experiencias. Esto nos ayudará a impulsar nuestra labor de defensa para evitar que estas empresas se aprovechen de los residentes.
